Building on the success of the 2025 Club Championship season, we've created another exciting set of races for 2026. We've maintained the great variety from 2025, moor, city, woodland, coast, road and trail we've got it all. Multi-distances, flat to brutal elevation. There really is something for everyone.
Taking part is optional but a great way to add some motivation!
The Club Championship is open to all current members of Riviera Racers
You must keep your club membership in date to remain eligible for the Club Championship.
As a representative of Riviera Racers, please endeavour to wear your club kit at the event. Either for the run itself, or post event.
As in previous years, you need to complete a minimum of 5 Club Championship events to be eligible for the end of season league table.
For Park Runs, please ensure your barcode is scanned in order for your name and time to appear in the official Park Run results. The Club Championship Officer will search the results by CLUB, so please ensure you are registered under Riviera Racers in your Park Run profile.
For all other events, the Club Championship Officer will study the results of each race once published, again by CLUB. So please ensure you enter the event as a Riviera Racer to qualify.
The Club Championship will close on completion of the final event in November.
The points and league table will be finalised and the awards will be presented at the Club’s annual Christmas Party / Awards Evening.
Any questions regarding the Club Championship should be directed to the Club Championship Officer (Steve Walker) via the Club’s email: rivieraracers2017@gmail.com
In each event, the results will be studied and 20 points will be awarded to the highest placed male and female in each race, followed by 19 points for 2nd, 18 points for 3rd and so on, until all who entered are accounted for.
Where available, chip time will be used to work out race positions. Where chip time is not available, race time or official park run times will be used.
An average score will then be calculated by dividing a member’s total points by the number of races they have taken part in.
example: Female member enters 6 events. Scores 20, 19, 17, 18, 16 & 19 points in their respective events. Add the scores up (=109 points) and divide by the number of events entered (6). The average score is 18.16
Some of the events listed have multiple distances. So, the 20, 19, 18, 17….. points scoring will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. in each distance. So the first placed Male in the Total Coastal 10K will get 20 points, as will the first placed Male in the Ultra at the same event.
In the event of a tie, other issues will be brought into consideration, such as number of events entered.
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed members in both the Male and Female categories.
There will also be an award for the member who enters the most events.
If you understood all that you get a bonus 5 points....
The aim of the Club Championship (winning at ALL costs aside) is to bring members together, share experiences, create memories and really gain as much enjoyment out of your running. So please share with other members the events you’re thinking of entering, you may just encourage others to join you, or train with you, which is what it’s all about, right?
